Power and Electricity World Africa 2013 – the Post Event Report

Power & Electricity World Africa 2013 exceeded many expectations and saw a massive growth forward in the quality, scale and experience of the event of the exhibition.

With 3 co-located events – Power & Electricity World Africa, The Solar Show, and Sustain & Build Africa, the 2013 edition of Africa’s largest power show proved to be the most innovative and thought-provoking yet. The event attracted over 250 sponsors and exhibitors, with majority of those being new to the event.

We had great feedback regarding our new networking initiatives introduced in 2013, such as:

• The new event networking app which gave sponsors and exhibitors greater real time visibility on who was attending, which had better functionality to contact and schedule meetings before, during and after the event.

• Introduction of the Terrapinn Networking Manager role, which meant that we were able to facilitate over 800 face to face introductions and meetings between our sponsors and buyers who attended the show.

• Introduction of our “Power Hour” networking meet ups, where sponsors and exhibitors had the opportunity to have face to face time with our key keynote speakers and buyers attending the show

• Growth in our social media and industry community

This foremost conference and exhibition for industry leaders explored and revealed new innovative strategies within Africa. Speakers, delegates, and sponsors and exhibitors benefited from valuable and stimulating agendas focused on new innovation, African expansion and market growth as well as the latest opportunities and trends that continue to grow and develop Africa’s power generation and renewable energy industries.

The event attracted over 4500 attendees in 2013, a number we are certain we can grow in 2014. Whilst increasing our numbers is always vital, we continue to be committed to focusing on attracting a high quality level of attendee coming through to the show.
